2016 Annual Meeting

Nevada State Medical Association 112th NSMA Annual Meeting and Scientific Session: “Preparing for Success”

September 16-18, 2016

Dear Colleagues,

Our Nevada State Medical Association staff, Internal Affairs Commission and I are excited to invite you to the 112th NSMA Annual Meeting and Scientific session: “Preparing for Success”. The meeting will take place September 16-18th, 2016 at the beautiful “M” Resort in Henderson, Nevada. As you may know, the NSMA House of Delegates 2015 approved a calendar change, so for the first time in NSMA history our meeting will be held in September preceding our 79th State of Nevada Legislative Session in 2017, and allowing up an opportunity to prepare for success.

Your participation as a member, delegate, or alternate delegate is vitally important as we convene the NSMA’s House of Delegates to formulate and articulate the NSMA’s policies and legislative positions.

The session kicks off Friday with the NSMA Council meeting, a Membership Summit, the opening of the House of Delegates and culminates with a Legislative Panel directed by The Perkins Group, our Lobbying team. On Saturday, the House of Delegates and Reference Committees will meet to consider and evaluate proposed Resolutions. In the afternoon, earn 2 hours of Ethics CME provided by Dr. Forman and Dr. Havins, and plan on attending our new Scientific Poster session where our State’s medical students present their scholarly work.

On Saturday evening, we celebrate our members with the instillation of our 112th NSMA President, Dr. Weldon Havins, MD JD and NSMA Auxiliary Co-President’s Lisa Gollard and April Stewart. We also look forward to honoring a few of our outstanding members with the Distinguished Physician Award, the Community Service Award, the Robert W. Shreck, MD Award, and the President’s Award. NSMA also looks forward to honoring a member of the community with the Nicholas J. Horn Award.

Join me to prepare NSMA for success in the road ahead. Please book your airline and hotel reservations early and if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact our staff. See you in Vegas!
