Public Health Commission Co-Chair
Dr. Anderson is a board certified emergency medicine physician at Renown in Reno where he
has practiced since 2014, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada School
of Medicine. He has a BA from the University of Montana, completed his MD at the University
of Colorado School of Medicine, and completed an Emergency Medicine residency and chief
residency at Denver Health Medical Center. He has been president and board member of the
Nevada Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), and currently serves
on the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee for both ACEP and the Wilderness Medical
Society.
Outside of the hospital he provides medical direction for a variety of organizations and
events, including the Broken Arrow Skyrace in Lake Tahoe and Run the Alps, as well as teaching
wilderness medicine for Tahoe Wilderness Medicine. He is married with four teenage children
and enjoys most things outdoors with his family from trail running, climbing, skiing, fishing and
river trips.
